Cost of living in Indonesia is the lowest in the world. According to the latest data from the website Numbeo, Indonesia ranks 12th out of 15 lowest cost country. The first rank in this group is India.
While in the group of 15 countries with the highest cost of living, the most expensive cost of living is Switzerland. The group is dominated by European countries : Norway, Denmark, England, Ireland, Luxemburg, Finland, France, and Belgium.
Numbeo is a site that contains a wide range of data rates from different cities and countries, contributed more than 187 thousand users of the site. According to data as of Thursday (22/1), the site has had 1,565,649 database of prices of 4,941 cities around the world.
In the given period, Numbeo released global cost of living index. The latest index is derived from data collected in the period from July 2013 until January 2, 2015.
This index is created by Numbeo based on data from the price of consumer goods, rental apartments, the price of wholesale goods, food fare in the restaurant, and local purchasing power.
The index of the cost of living in a country refers to the city of New York City, USA, as a relative. Index for anything in New York is 100. For example, if the index in a car rental in the city is 120, this means that the cost of rents in the city was 20 percent more expensive than New York City.
