The Edgeland is a showcase of art, nature, technology, and culture in the architectural design of the habitable house. Designed for a science fiction writer who was fascinated by abandoned industrial area in the Austin area, Texas. When viewed from the banks of the Colorado River, site of this building looks just like a narrow road to the lower ground. The main focus in the design of the house is habitable is to promote the beautiful natural landscape as part of the dwelling. Therefore, the construction of the building was made in such a way not to damage the site area.10 Most Futuristic Architectures in The World
Finally made 2 separate pavilions which house between public areas and private areas with other areas that extends around the building. This residential uses underground thermal mass of earth and green roofs insulated to protect from heat and cold weather throughout the year with backup hydronic heating system to address climate of Texas. In addition, to improve the local ecosystem, the architect collaborated with lady bird johnson wildflower center brings back 40 native plant species back to this site.
