Technology Products Those Extinct in 2015

Flashbacks to 2014, there are many technologies that had been popular, now extinct in 2015. The reasons the producers stopping the products and services in order to face the changes in technology trends in order to compete with its competitors . Some of them are listed below:

iPod Classic (2001-2014)

Along with the release of the iPhone 6 on September 9, 2014, Apple began eliminating iPod Classic from Apple Store. Apple also announced the termination of such products on the grounds that the iPod component manufacturer was not able to make the parts. Tim Cook also added that the production of the iPod Classic has been improperly maintained. As soon as Apple announced the termination of the first generation iPod, the device immediately becomes the target of hunters rare items to be used as their collections. 


Windows XP (2001 – 2014)

After becoming one of the most popular operating systems, Microsoft eventually terminate its service on April 8, 2014. With the discontinuation of Windows XP, users are still using it will no longer get full support. Microsoft also recommends that XP users to switch to a newer and modern operating system which have more sophisticated capabilities and more robust in terms of security.

It first appeared at the beginning of December 2004, Sony finally announced the termination of the PSP gaming device on June 4, 2014. The Tokyo-based company was gradually stop sales from Europe to Asian markets until the end of 2014. In fact, since January 2014, the PSP has been discontinued sales in the region of North America. After 10 years of attendance, the PSP is estimated to have sold up to 80 million units. The next generation PlayStation Vita is also expected to repeat the success or even exceed the PSP popularity.

The end of the 90s is a glorious period of chat application which only has a simple text-based features and sound. MSN Messenger is the most popular instant messenger service at the time. Afterwards, MSN Messenger renamed Windows Live Messenger since Microsoft took over the chat service. After Microsoft bought Skype which provide a better service, finally Windows Live Messenger has been stopped.

The rapid growth of gadgets such as smartphones and tablets had made sales of notebook and desktop PCs has decreased drastically. It is predicted to last for the next years. Sony eventually stopped SONY VAIO notebook lineup. This Sony's mainstay product discontinued since February 2014. Sony revealed the reason for termination is because they want to concentrate on the more promising tablet business.

Nokia Phone (1984-2014)

Since April 25, 2014, Microsoft to Nokia's acquisition process has been completed. But then Microsoft was "allowed" to bring some of the Nokia cell phone. Nokia also presents the Lumia line of smartphones that it is still in demand by users. However, as of October 2014, Microsoft officially began using the brand Microsoft's future in its latest Lumia smartphone and using the Microsoft brand.

With a simple and pictorial illustrations like cartoons, Clip Art is used in applications Word or Powerpoint. And since the beginning of December 2014, the easy access Clip Art enforced, including for the version of Microsoft Office to Office 2003. Instead, Microsoft provides illustration images via image search in Bing.

TV Plasma (1999-2014)

However, due to a bad platform, Panasonic decided to stop production of plasma TV in 2013 while LG followed in 2014.
