On July 29, 2015, Microsoft has released Windows 10 which is claimed as the most advanced operating system ever made. Download Windows 10
The first step, you must download the Windows 10.
- Go to the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10. You have to install the support application for Windows 10 to download it. Select the 32-bit or 64-bit as needed.
- Run the file and it will open a new window with a blue background. Select "Create installation media for another PC". Click Next.
- Select a language, edition or version of Windows 10, and the architecture desired. And click Next.
Upgrading from Windows 7 / 8.1
One of the advantages of installing Windows 10 through the process of upgrading from previous Windows is we can downgrade and restore it to the previous Windows system.
- From Windows 7 or Windows 8.x, system, plug the USB disk that already contains the ISO file of Windows 10. Browse to the folder Windows 10 and run the Setup file and follow the instructions.
- A window will appear that gives the option if you want to directly get the latest update files or not. It requires an active internet connection. Click Next to continue.
- A window of license terms agreement appears and select Accept.
- If later you want to do a downgrade, make sure to choose Change what to keep and select Keep personal files, apps, and Windows settings. Click Install and the installation process begins immediately.
When you install Windows 10 through the update process of Windows 7 or Windows 8.x, the system will save the backup folder named Windows.old. This folder is useful if you want to downgrade or restore it to a previous version of the Windows system. If the folder is still there, you can still downgrade.
Here's the steps:
- Open the Start menu, select Settings. Will open a new window to select the Update & Security.
- On the next page, select Recovery located in the left window. There are the options : Go back to Windows 7 or Go back to Windows 8.1. Click that option.
- The new window will appear with a blue background. The system will ask the reason why the downgrade. Click Next after completion.
- Before downgrading the Windows start up process, the system will ensure the return whether the process will be continued. This gives an opportunity to the user if changed my mind. Press Next to continue and wait until the process is complete.
