Bali is full of art galleries. Especially in tourist areas such as: Ubud, Kuta, Sanur and Jimbaran and Denpasar. However, the galleries are more often considered as art shop that since the 70s and 80s just aiming for sales of works of art and souvenirs to foreign tourists. Galleries, or art shop which are established in the 70s more oriented to meet the demand for traditional painting and neo-traditional. There is also interested in contemporary art.
Since the early 1990s, Bali contemporary artists have a certainty of success in promoting and selling their work. However, they are often still find it difficult to find a gallery willing to exhibit his paintings. Annually, an art lover is expected to visit several exhibitions of contemporary Balinese art. The schedule of exhibitions in the galleries coincides with the annual holiday season, and the peak of the tourist season.
Seniwati Gallery of Art is owned by the women. This is the first gallery in Asia. This gallery is only for women artists, established in Ubud in 1991. The gallery aims to expose the wishes of the artists in Bali independent women, to train and encourage young women Balinese artists who wished to be, and to facilitate the sale of works of art as artists are talented woman. Every Sunday Seniwati Gallery of Art held a drawing class for the mothers and children. Workshops, demonstrations, performances, and community art projects are also growing.
This gallery exhibit and sell the work of more than seventy women artists from Indonesia and abroad, who are all residents /stay in Bali. Artists who exhibited there has variety of styles and techniques that are very good, from traditional to contemporary.
Ganesha Gallery at Four Seasons Resort Jimbaran formed in November 1995. There is more than seventy solo exhibitions and group exhibitions since the gallery stand. Many Indonesian artists had held an exhibition there. And many foreign artists also settled and held an exhibition there.

Sika Gallery Contemporary, providing a creative exhibition space, for the Balinese artists who think ahead, especially those already shown his skill in the art multimedia and anyone who lives close to the spirit of art and culture. As the owner, Wayan Sika made himself an artist with an idealistic and progressive vision for the future. To realize his vision, he founded Sika Contemporary Gallery in Ubud 1996. The gallery program focuses on an exhibition and promotion of contemporary Indonesian art. There are several exhibits the work of contemporary artists local and foreign artists each year.
